Domain Name Retrieval via the CIRA "To Be Released" (TBR) System
We can help you retrieve a domain that you accidently let expire and is being released by CIRA (Canadian Internet Registration Authority) for registration. Our services are especially important if the domain name in question
is not protected by a relevant trademark.
Any .CA domain name that as expired and passed through a 30-day suspension period is then 'dropped' on the Wednesday of that week. Prior to the general public being able to register a released domain name, .CA registrars are given a window of time when only they can register the domain.
Many registrars will compete against each other, attempting to register domains on behalf of clients (who pay a fee if the domain is obtained for them). Registrars who are quite adept at 'grabbing' domains, often have multiple
clients requesting the same domain - in which case they may have a pre or post release auction to award the domain to the highest bidder.
The CIRA TBR process can be quite complex and that is where our services can help. For a small service fee of $150 (plus any agreed upon additional fees incurred in auctions) we will attempt to reacquire your domain for you.
